Winter’s on its way out, and summer’s just around the corner!
00:04
It’s almost time to ditch the sweaters and scarves
00:06
and dive back into wearing shorts and tank tops.
00:10
Unfortunately, a lot of us are conscious about our underarms.
00:14
We don’t like how they look,
00:15
they’re too dark, patchy or pigmented
00:18
and we don’t like how they feel!
00:20
But, there are a few really simple fixes for this.
00:23
Hi, I’m Saachi, and in this video I’ll show you how,
00:26
with a little home care and the right products,
00:29
you can enjoy summer, any way you’d like to!
00:40
If you shave or wax your underarms regularly,
00:43
you may find that you’re left with scars, bumps
00:45
or even discolouration in that area.
00:48
So if this is a problem for you,
00:50
try using a mild exfoliator a couple of times a week.
00:53
Add a spoonful of sugar,
00:55
hunt down some dried ground orange peels
00:59
and some coconut oil.
01:02
Mix well and apply this on your underarms.
01:05
This will remove dead skin cells and any other dirt
01:07
that’s accumulated in that region.
01:10
It’ll also help smoothen out the skin, and leave you feeling fresh.
01:17
Grooming body hair is a personal choice,
01:19
and you shouldn’t feel pressured or forced into looking a certain way.
01:23
Having said that, there is an advantage to
01:25
trimming or removing hair from areas that sweat a lot.
01:29
The bacteria that builds up in damp areas are responsible for body odour.
01:34
So if this is something that bothers you
01:36
then it’s worth considering removing the hair.
01:39
You can shave or wax your armpits,
01:42
but be careful as the skin is sensitive.
01:45
Once you’re done,
01:46
use a roll-on with 0% alcohol instead of your regular deodorant,
01:50
as they don’t sting or irritate the skin.
01:56
Apart from being super gentle on your skin,
01:58
roll-ons also help your skin smell good!
02:01
This is a pretty big part of feeling clean and comfortable.
02:05
A current favourite is Nivea’s Pearl and Beauty Roll-On,
02:08
this has 0% alcohol content and pearl extracts
02:12
which make it super gentle on your skin.
02:14
It controls body odour all day
02:16
and the rolling ball covers the entire underarm easily.
02:20
The fragrance is subtle and not too heavy as well, which we like.
02:26
Taking care of the rest of your body is as important as
02:29
taking care of your face,
02:31
so it’s time you stopped neglecting it!
02:33
Especially post a shave or wax,
02:35
they can be left slightly irritated
02:38
and the best way to help soothe and condition this sensitive skin
02:42
is by applying a moisturizing agent like aloe vera gel.
02:45
Aloe vera is a magic plant,
02:47
the gel can penetrate your skin and hydrate it from within,
02:51
leaving you fresh and smooth.
02:57
If you have dry or pigmented underarms
03:00
and would like to improve how they look and feel,
03:03
then this DIY mask will work wonders.
03:06
Take some gram flour,
03:07
a pinch of turmeric
03:08
and add some lemon juice to it.
03:11
Mix
03:12
and apply this to your underarms.
03:14
Kick back and let the mask work on your skin for about 15 minutes.
03:18
Do this daily for a week and you should see a big improvement.
03:25
In a tropical country like ours,
03:27
humidity is always high and wearing materials
03:30
such as rayon or polyester can suffocate the skin
03:34
leading to rashes and just an overall sense of irritated skin.
03:38
You can make this less of an issue by wearing outfits
03:41
made of breathable cotton or linen fabrics.
03:45
These fabrics wick away the moisture
03:47
and help keep your skin dry, in a good way.
03:50
And now that your underarm game is strong
03:52
you can go ahead and wear sleeveless clothes confidently.
03:55
So there you go,
03:56
follow these simple steps in order to stay sweat-free,
03:59
restore the bacterial balance of your underarms
04:03
and feel fresh and confident all day long!
04:05
I hope you found this video helpful!
